The autumnal flowering form of the species, in my opinion merits a subspecies status. It is growing in S. Lebanon, W. Syria, Jordan Israel and Palestine.
Flowering season starts in mid October to last till early December. Leaves appear after the plant received some rain or dew. In cultivation it is better kept completely dry during summer than start watering it after the flowers have finished.
