Very rare and showy species from Syria and Iraq.

It is one of the largest species in the eastern Mediterranean. Leaves can reach 40cm in length and flowering stems start short but elongate over 3 weeks to about 30 cm carrying dozens of flowers. Forms impressive clumps. Needs full sun and would thrive in wet soils.
