Romulea petraea OP215148

A real rarity from Jordan where it grows in small numbers in the mountains around the site of Petra at quite high elevation. Growing in pure sand. Similar to the common R. tempskyana, differing by the thicker leaves which are slightly spiral, flowering stem is shorter and much larger seeds. Described as a new species in 2001.
