Scilla latifolia

An incredibly robust and beautiful species from Morocco and the Canary Islands.
It flowers in autumn when leaves are still immature. Unlike its relative S. madeirensis from Madeira the stem of this species tends to branch into three, with a long flowering season. The large bulbs grow to a Drimia maritima bulb size with deep violet/blue tunics.
