- It is the second year that few bulbs of this incredibly beautiful species are available. This species takes 5-7 years to maturity. It is slow to develop. Bulbs are 3 years old and still small in size (see photo). Needs a deep pot as bulbs find their way down rapidly, therefor better repotting them yearly till they flower. Not available this year

- This showy species is endemic to the Island of Lampedusa. Unlike its well-known relative S. peruviana, this species has more compact growth and a large flat umbel on a short stem.
